Can someone help me a little with this promotion?  I understand the 500 points we automatically get for each nights stay, but if we stay at another brand, at the end of the promotion are we given an extra 500 points for staying at two different brands, or are we actually getting an extra 1,000 points for staying at two different ones?  I hope this makes sense.  The answer will determine whether or not i am going to go that extra mile to stay at more than 1 hotel.

The way I understand it, is you get the 500 pts each night (posted immediately along with regular points).

If you stay at a 2nd brand, you will get the regular 500 pts as mentioned above, plus an additonal 500 pts, x the total number of nights you had during the promotion.

3 brands, an extra 1000 pts , 4 brands, an extra 1500

I just assume that since I have stayed at 4 different brands during the promotion, i recieve a total of 2000 points per night total. ( 500 given immediately and 1500 extra at the end of the promotion)

When looking at my current offer status, it says I have 17 nights. I have already received 500 pts per night, plus I will recieve 1500 x 17 more per night at the end.

Everything is based on per night.

Is this correct?

I believe that jbvideo is correct. The only confusion is what really counts as a different brand. I have stayed at Holiday Inn, HI Express, and Crowne Plaza. I still only get 500 per night. I thought that the Crowne Plaza would at least qualify me for a different brand and increase the promo rate. Bummer since I have 13 nights under this promo, but only 6500 bonus. Oh well.... Celtic - I am hoping that you are correct about receiving the "Level Up" points after the promo is over. That would be a welcome addition to my points balance. I was under the impression that "leveling up" occured while you earned the bonus, then the little bar showed you how much of the maximum that you used up. Keeping my fingers crossed. I make a post to this thread if I get if I get the New Year's bonus. Cheers, ...

I just wanted to post a few comments for clarity sake - 

• jbvideo is correct, the bonus points for additional brands are as follows: 2x = 500, 3x = 1000, 4x = 1500
• the bonus points will post in 2012, the only bonus points for this promotion that you should see in your accounts are the 500 base points.
• the brands that qualify for the multiplier are the seven main brands: InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites & Candelwood Suites

I'm planning on staying at the 'Indigo in Albany next week to round out my fourth brand before the end of the promotion at year's end. I should book it now while I'm thinking about it. This promotion brought some business to IHG from me that they wouldn't have gotten normally - I planned two vacations this Fall, partly to travel around and pick up brands (along with having a great time). My wife and I made a trip to Lake Placid, NY in October, staying at the Crowne Plaza there. It was the off season, midway between Summer swimming and hiking and the Winter Ski Season, so it was relaxed and quiet. And the rooms were cheaper than the Holiday Inn Express in Wilkes-Barre, PA on the way there. They upgraded us to a beautiful room, with a fireplace and sauna. It looked out across the town with a view almost like we were in the Swiss Alps. The second morning there it was snowing when we woke up, it was only flurries, but was the first snow of the year! Yikes! I can't believe I left out Hotel Indigo! You're correct though, Hotel Indigo is included in the brand qualifier and I'll update my post above.
