just before the year end, check the number of points you have earned so far and just purchase the points you lack to keep your status. Points purchased before the year ends will count as "point earning"
Say you only lack 5000 points, you can purchase it for $ 67.50 to maintain you PLTN. You will realize that 67.50 will go along way for your future stays...![]()

Ambassador status automatically bumps you up to gold status. Cost is $!50 for the first year and $100 each year to renew. If you tend to stay at IC's it's a bargain; if not...well, it's just not worth it.
Ambasadors receive a BOGO voucher. for one free weekend night, that is, pay for one weekend night; get the second one free, on the same stay. That alone, pays for Ambassador membership. Ambs also recieve 5000 PCpoints annually, plus upgrades, amenities upoon check-in.(water , fruit, sometimes chocolates, wine,)
There are a few other amenities, such as a complementary pay-tv movie, a leather luggage tags, and possibly some other mini = advantages.
Although Amb is geared toward IC stays, , at HI and Cp's, I am often given an upgraded room or a complimentary breakfast.

JBA Oops. I didn't know that they upped the ante to $200 to become an Ambassador.
Thanks for the correction.

One other nice perk for the PC Visa I have not seen mentioned here is that you will receive a 10% point rebate for every reward night you book while a card member. We booked 7 nights this summer for vacation for 175,000 points and less than a month later I had a 17,500 credit to my PC account. The annual fee is hard to swallow after the first year but the free room per year credit sort of makes up for it. - TSPORT

The Chase Pri-Club Visa is really a good deal....
HOWEVER...I have had the card for maybe 6-7 years and never missed a payment.
A few months ago I was in Europe on business and missed a payment the first time by 5 days and those bastards raised my interest rate to a whopping 26%!!
I paid off the whole balance and called them to adjust with no joy!!!
I tried to get a new card and no-go....
However I still use it but I have to pay it down every month with a hefty fee %^^$#$
But..the extra points are still a good deal!!

On 02 Mar, my 80K bonus points plus 5X hotel bonus points posted to my account.
Way faster than I expected! Very nice.
Cheers, ....
