Priority Club Ambassador membership portfolio / five weeks and counting...

Five weeks and counting on the Priority club Ambassador membership portfolio.  I do appreciate the immediate access to all membership benefits but the Complimentary Weekend Night Certificate is booked for the weekend of July 22.  I have sent two email and subsequently called once after no response to the email and was informed a "replacement" would be expedited.  Asking what to expect in the expedited replacement the customer service representative informed me 1-2 weeks.  The room was booked via the correct web site after confirming Ambassador status and some 7 weeks in advance.  Obviously booking the room in advance of the receipt of the certificate is not advised but the Ambassador web site does state,

How long does it take for my InterContinental Ambassador materials to be delivered and what materials will be included inside my portfolio?

The standard delivery period is within two to three weeks (for US, Canada, Europe, Africa, Mexico, Central/ South America, Caribbean)

Although never had this problem, I do suggest to ask the Ambassador service center to forward an electronic BOGO voucher in your name to the booked IC hotel..
Hope this is a nice hotel and you enjoy the stay

Haven't had to wait for the package in a while, but from what I read it normally takes anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks.
Package includes BOGO cert, a 5k points voucher and a nice luggage tag.

As the customer service representative understood the booking was in two weeks I am a bit concerned the representative did not offer the option of an electronic BOGO voucher.  A call back during normal business hours should clarify.  I do hope the horror stories about delays with the Ambassador membership portfolios are the exception and not the norm.

So? How did it turn out? Did you get your certificate in time? I'm concerned because I joined the program so that I could enjoy my holiday weekend in Boston, and now it seems I may not get my certificate in time. I have 3 weeks till I leave and from what I hear it may take much longer for the package to arrive. All in all, my initial experiences with the Ambassador program have not been very good, and I did not find that the customer service over the phone was very helpful either. I'm simply trying to understand why a service that I PAY to enjoy would provide such archaic methods of operations. Why does it take 4 to 6 weeks to arrive? Why can't they make the reward night show up on your electronic account so that you can use it right away? Why can't they expedite the package to the customers who need it? It simply does not make any sense, and the only explanation I'm getting from the Ambassador program is basically that this is the way they've always done things and they don't want to change. Hardly a progressive business model.

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear this because I have been waiting since May for my membership portfolio.  Like you I have emailed them over and over with the promise each time that they will Fedex it right away.

Still waiting.

Mine didn't arrive for many weeks either (earlier this year).  So I chased the Ambassador service centre - then I got two sets within a few days of each other!

Happy travelling! Mark

Well here it is almost two months later I still don't have it and all I get is the run around.  They claim they have sent it to me 4 times but I haven't received anything twice they said they sent it via Fedex then in the next email they say post?

I don't have the time to waste calling or emailing them anymore. I will NOT be staying with them any longer.

This sounds like a job for CAROreed (I think her name is, if she is reading).  She is fantastic at helping people out with situations like this.

Hi Murfly -
I checked with my service team and due to the shipping issues, they confirmed your Ambassador kit will be waiting for you when you arrive for your upcoming stay at the InterContinental Grand Standard Hong Kong.

I hope you have a wonderful stay in Hong Kong! Please let me know if you have any additional questions!

Thank you!
