Amanda Hi,

I have just quickly given this a scan, and as a topic close to my heart will be making comments when time permits......however, as I said I have only given this a quick scan......is it currently just a concept and customer feedback or is there a plan to build such a hotel???

This information may help better explain the answer. IHG is under ongoing development with green ideas, and want to know what consumers & guests value. There are currently hotels that participate in many green initiatives (several are listed in my blog post). But as you know, innovation and implementation is ongoing within IHG's development pipeline. Thanks for participating and sharing your ideas.

Seems to be the way that house building is also going. A lot of new  building, in more exposed area , have their own wind turbine. Traveling west from London Airport past Reading there is a rather noticeable one. What I like about wind turbines is that if something better comes along they can be fairly quickly removed unlike a large power station.

You'll be surprised what's out there even for domestic use, however, presently it can be on the costly side

The Headquarters in Denham, UK is an example of a real life sustainable building design. Suppliers and manufacturers were selected based on their sustainability credentials. The Headquarters has energy efficient lighting, solar panels in the car park, low flow plumbing, and zone metering.

IHG plans to launch green room prototype to serve as a learning center for owners and general manages. The prototype will be designed in a marketing suite which will allow IHG to test energy efficient and recyclable products from manufactures, and establish if they would be suitable for IHG hotels.

I don't like the idea of a soap, shampoo and conditioner dispenser on the wall of the shower!

It would be a difficult thing to keep clean. Now that may sound strange,  but I still prefer to have my own bar of soap, and other bathing amenities!

Other than that, the hotel has some very innovative ideas.

it's a very nice idea.. very so environment frienldy and i hope that every hotel can have this innovative concept.. if all hotels can implement this concept, we are going to have a better place to live in.. and for my opinion, i can say that i am willing to pay more for my hotel stay since i know that my money is put on a good use..

Yes, the dispenser looks cheap and yucky!
