Although no one has asked, it is time to clue you in of the  Contessa's lineage.  . .

 

There is not royal heritage. .  She was born in Brooklyn. NY,  to an ordinary middle class working family and was named Marlene.

 

  Earlier ,in this communty, she used her true name,-- first, maiden and surname,.

  and particpated  fully  telling  much of her life and lifestyle.

 

Then,  paranoia set in. . This is an open forum, and  who knows what crazies  lurk out there.  Marlene had clearly identified who she is, what she does, where she lives. She's even in the phone book.  And so it was time to be more  anonymous,if not more discreet and  find a nom du plume.

 

  A plain Jane kind of name is boring . No,  it needed more pzaazz.  And so  Contessa Vanessa was invented.

 

   She replies to either name.

Amanda,  I am using the name Contessa  Vanessa because I like the sound of it. It is my own  invention...not from movies, books or tv.

I just didn't want a plain jane  kind of name and rather like being faux royalty.

Contessa, I'm an old computer geek, my name is actually a pre-internet name, back in the BBS (Bulletin Board Service) i.e. you dialed in to a computer to connect with others, I played on line games with my real name.

When I got some bad posts i.e was was beating the other players in the game & they want to get "my name" I changed my name to Eric the Red, since I played an evil player ahahaha.(totally not me)..

 

I realized all this (on line information) was coming so I picked a name that had meaning to me, for years if you did a search of my real name nothing came up, ie phone number or address.  Again if you know me I don't hide.  

 

The thing I have learned you can read a persons personality from their post. 

 

I knew when I saw you "handle" I wondered how far back it it went. I never look for meaning to what the name means.  I.e like what is  Amanda Kehoe's real name is (grin). 

 

On the other end of the spectrum is my son & his wife, they are all over the internet  & it is to their advantage (hiding in plain sight: name, address, phone number, every day activities) but then again they are children of the web   & use it to their advantage

My grandchldren  are all computer wihizzes  and one of them is a sophmore at Tufts,  majoring in  computer engineering, whatever that is. So Charlie fixes whatever goes wrong with grandma in cyberspace. Problem is  Charlie is in MA and I am not. I once was so desparate that I made an appointment  for a housecall from the Geek Squad.. The guy that came was  wonderful.  It was expensive 'though   they discounted 30% with a AAA card.
