Newbie from Stockport (UK)

Hi

Just joined Priority Club Connect and looking forward to joining the community.

I consider myself to be a well travelled individual that has visted every content through playing wheelchair basketball and through my business de facto promotions.

I am a Paralympian that has attended three Paralympics. I'm looking forward to the London 2012 Paralympics.

I enjoy staying at Holiday Inn because they never fail me.  I know what to expect. If they dont have what I expect they do everything possible to make sure I enjoy my visit. As a disabled person this 'Can Do' attitude means a great deal to me. What more can a person want?

Looking forward to chatting more about your adventures and sharing mine

Best wishes

Re: Newbie from Stockport (UK)

Welcome Josie,

It would be great to hear about your experiences in IHG hotels especially as so many UK ones are quite old, and built before building regulations insisted on disabled access as a nescessity for approval. I'm aware all have been converted to allow access but there must still be some hotels that are a nightmare to get around, or into, just by there very shape.

Also maybe you could tell us of your experiences about how you go on overseas, as many countries don't have same strict UK/EU building regulations.

Good luck in 2012.....Go For Gold Girl!!

Welcome to the group Josie!

I have a cousin who's son is a 'wheeler' and he plays wheelchair basketball also.  He loves doing that.  He is 27 and does very well gettting around, he travels throughout the USA and Canada.  His hotel of choice is Holiday Inn Express because they always work for him.

I look forward to your posts.

Josie,

Welcome to the club..

The NYC Marathon was a couple of  Sundays ago and there were many, many wheelies who always got  lots of applause and "hurrahs" as they wheeled by..

Good for you.
