Welcome to all the Newbies from an Oldie

Gosh there are so many newbies popping up every day, my fingers are getting sore just from replying and welcoming all of you.

So, here is one big hug and welcome to all you who have recently joined this unique family.

Just so you  know, I have been on this site  almost from the beginning.  I learned a lot, asked questions and always got answers. I am racking up many more PC points because of   short cuts and the how to's from members. I became an ambassador becasue it's a good deal.and have renewed  for the past 4 years.

I am an active participant, blog weekly and travel for fun throughout the year..  Sometimes it  is a staycation at a nearby  IHG hotel, other times, it may be around the country or around the world.

I can do this because  I am retired and whenever the wanderlust calls I'm ready to pull out my passport and go.

Once again. Glad you are here.

Re: Welcome to all the Newbies from an Oldie

My dear Contessa, don't be so ******* yourself! To describe yourself as an OLDIE is an insult. To be OLD is a state of mind, and you mostly certainly are not with your International jet setting and little fear of other cultures. I wish my parents had taken a leaf out of your book.

It is said that the mid 60 year olds are the new 40 somethings. I totally agree. All the 60 somethings I meet are "up and at 'em" kind of people who are enjoying their retirement to the full.....just as you are! So stop putting yourself down. I just hope that in 20 years time when I'm in my mid 60's I to can be as spritly and youthful as you and many others.

Ok Paul, what DID you type that was left out-- censored out???

I agree, most of the 60's plus , 60ish (whatever term you want to use) are still full of fun and spunk.  Perhaps it is because we were flower children? HA HA.. that is what my daughter tells me..

I believe the missing words are  H A R D  ON. Obviously the profanity detector got the wrong idea.

On second thoughts I think it could have been D O W N ON. Either way this censoring tool needs to be turned off. If anyone does use profanities then I'm sure the Moderators can suspend or ban them if someone complains.

Re: Welcome to all the Newbies from an Oldie

When I started selling medical products to Surgeons in the mid 1970's they referred to an old person of 65 now they refer to a young 85 year old. I remember my aunt telling my farther he was far to old to swim in the sea ay the age of 52 and he was then a fit serving Air Force officer. At our Gym there are many 80year olds doing there daily dozen and swimming in the pool. good on 'em
