Hello:
I have just joined and I will be going to singapore and would like to know if any one know of a nice hotel to stay at?
There are number of IHG properties for varying budgets take a look at

We were disuaded from staying at a IHG hotel due to the poor reviews, ended up in the Grand Hyatt on the club floor. It was wonderful.
If you are talking about reviews on trip advisor they do seem to get a lot of moaners. I often do not recognise the hotel in the review as the same on I have stayed at.
I have stayed at the Pan Pacific, Marina Mandarin and but Intercontinental is my favorite. It's colonial in style, it's in a great location (by Bugis Square) and the service has been excellent so far.

Intercontinental Hotels have always seemd to be wonderfull throughout the Asian continent....I would also recommend any Shangri-La Hotels in Asia! -Very exclusive and luxurious,-and sometimes even lower priced.
I spend about a month a year in Singapore for have about the last 12 years.
Ther are many very nice places to stay.
As far as IHG group, it depeneds on how much you want to spend.
The Intercontinental is very nice (walk right into a mall and also close to Bugis street, more shopping, and the convention center). Of course as far as shopping goes almost every hotel is near shopping if you are near downtown.
Holiday Inn Parkview is very close to Orchartd road shopping.
There is a nice Crowne Plaza there but it is near the airport and not city center.
Outside of IHG group. Pan Pacific is nice, Oriental is tops, and Swissotel Stamford and Merchant Court are nice also.
Don't forget, while you are there, eat at the "Hawker" centers. Best food around and by far the best price.
Don't go to the "Newton Square" Hawker stand, this is a tourist trap price wise.
Don;t forget to try the Chili Crab, and the Chicken rice.
Very clean city and very safe at any time of night.
Nathan...
Thank You.
I think that the holiday Inn parkvew sounds good and I will try out Hawker center.
again thanks you. you have been a big help.
Great!
Hope you enjoy your trip. You should once you adjust to the time change.
If you like hot, go to the Banna Leaf in the Little India and try the fish head curry.
Aside form the food.... Don't miss China Town, The Zoo (By far one of the best), and antique shopping on Dempsey Road.
There is a nice mall at the convention center and at Stamford.
The Taxis are cheap and the subway is cheaper.
Hi,
There is an ongoing promotion now for Intercon Singapore where you pay 2 nights for a 3 night stay. You are also eligible for the PC points for the 2 nights paid. Works out comparable to the friends and family rates but you get the PC points.

The HIs in Singapore are a bit dated so would encourage you to spend a bit more and stay at the Intercon instead. It is linked to a major shopping mall and subway so very convinient to move around. Also a 5 minute walk to cultural areas such as arab street.
