Hi techsteven!
Welcome to the community! I was thinking of visiting Myrtle Beach, SC this year. Any other places you suggest I visit? ![]()
Best, Claire
OH Yes!
At Myrtle Beach you need to visit Broadway at the Beach, in the summer they do fireworks on the lake, you can take boat rides, lots of shopping, restaurants to eat at, they also have lots of things to do with the family as well. This is the place to go at night.
Charleston, SC is only about an hour and 1/2 away depending on some traffic, but that's well worth the drive, go to downtown and visit the market very neat place, lots of historic stuff as well around, if you like to go to bars and clubs there are plenty of them around. If you are staying in Charleston there is a Holiday Inn Patriots Point that I used to stay at twice a week every week for almost 4 years, they took very good care of me there, rooms 300 and 400 are the best in the house. Right across the street there is a barbeque restaurant called Stickey Fingers You have to visit it! Back to MB be cautious of when you go there as they have Bike Weeks and other things that raise the room rates up and make things very hard to get around and decrease your patience levels as well. The Holiday Inn South Beach is OK its been awhile since I stayed there but the one up towards the Main Action is or was pretty run down. The Holiday Inn Express at Broadway at the Beach is or was very nice along with the one out next to the Hard Rock Amusement Park (which by the way closed already) but the hotel was very nice last time I stayed there was late July. You can always get extra deals by taking one of those resort tours bargin with them they will give you money, tickets, etc for 90 minutes of your time by the way the magic number at these resorts in not buying is $100
Hope this helps,
steve
