have lived in Georgia most of my life, currently live in Atlanta, Georgia (Dunwoody); population 5 million, home to UPS, Coca-Cola, Delta Airlines, Home Depot, Kimberly-Clark, Newell Rubbermaid, the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the world's busiest airport (handles 10 million more passengers than O'hare (the second-busiest airport), and InterContinental Hotels Group US Headquarters-which is coincidentally within walking distance from my neighborhood
obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in 2004 from the second largest university in Georgia
am an advocate for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and lobbied for lower alcohol driving limits
perceive myself as a "Generalist" (a person with a wide array of knowledge) taking pride in knowing a little bit about a lot of different things
consider myself a "foodie"
prefer spending time in luxury hotels when I travel for leisure
enjoy: traveling internationally (outside the United States), photography (with my Nikon), Ethiopian food (raw), and documentaries

I am still trying to work this out. As you can see Jenni and I have posted comments to the blog. It appears the site has a problem with it's security certificates...

Tips:

Try logging out and loggin back in

If after adding a post you receive the Internet Explorer question pop-up box asking "yes or no" to viewing secure items, choose NO.

Or go adjust security settings for Internet Explorer users-

To allow mixed security content

Open Internet Explorer
Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
Click the Security tab, and then click the Custom level button.
In the Security Settings dialog box, scroll to the Display mixed content setting in the Miscellaneous section, and then click Enable.
Click OK in the Security Settings dialog box, click Yes to confirm that you want to make the change, and then click OK to exit Internet Options.

Amanda, I used to be the front office manager of the Crowne Plaza across from Perimeter Center Mall. I know your Ambassor Membership usually means you will stay at an InterContinental hotel, but if I can get you to "Stay Smart" at my Express next time you come to Manhattan, let me know.

Did you hear they are building a new InterContinental hotel in Times Square? It's scheduled to open next Fall.

Fantastic. The humidity here in the summer leaves a little something to be desired, but summer is my favorite time of year in New York City. IHG has a lot of fun things going on as I have re-launched my hotel and have the new signage and lighting on my Express. IHG has also opened a new Holiday Inn Express a couple blocks away from Times Square and there is a Candlewood in the same building. It's in a bit of a rough neighborhood, but they are still good values.

The new InterContinental Times Square should be open by the end of the year next year. The building looks incredible!

Everything is great here in NYC! We're all preparing for Christmas or "shopping season" as we call it in the biz. The IC looks amazing. It is on a great block, too, overlooking the West block of Times Square.

Don't be put off by the pushed date. All new construction gets delayed in Manhattan. It kinda goes with the territory.
